About this Series:

Have you ever been to the movies and watched an intense scene that brought you to the edge of your seat? That emotional response of fear, anticipation and suspense, could be attributed to many different factors such as the subject of what you are watching, or the editing, and many more. One thing that attributes greatly to such emotional responses while watching movies, is the sound that accompanies the video.

How does the sound of this scene make it more emotionally charged? If this is a thought that you have had in the past regarding a movie or video you watched, well you are in luck. Because in this new DaVinci Resolve series we will start to discuss sound design and sound editing.

We will start from building a basic understanding of the Fairlight tab, and continue by learning together what is possible to create within the Fairlight tab. Since sound is about fifty percent of what video is, a visual medium, sound plays an important role at relaying messages and emotions. Hence, we will begin our new series with some easy to digest exercises and build our knowledge of audio as we go.
