Hey, all of you cool coders and computer scientists! Learn coding from Siobhan, a kid, just like you. Join along on her coding adventures and share your projects, too!

So, why are you waiting? Let's start coding!

What You’ll Need:

About Our Kid Coder Series:

Our Kid Coder Series takes peer-to-peer learning to the next level. Our goal is to showcase amazing kids and the world they want to build.

About Scratch:

Scratch is a visual programming language and online community targeted primarily at children by coding with 'blocks' in the editor. Users of the site can create online projects using a block-like interface.

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations—and share your creations with others in the online community. As a result, scratch helps young people think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively—essential skills for life in the 21st century. Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab.

What do young people learn as they create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art with Scratch? For one thing, they know mathematical and computational ideas are built into the Scratch experience. For example, as students create programs in Scratch, they learn core computational concepts such as iteration and conditionals. They also gain an understanding of important mathematical concepts such as coordinates, variables, and random numbers.
